Spine 101
What is your Vital Connection?
Your brain is made up of nerve cells that organize into a thick cord of billions of nerve fibers to create your spinal cord. Your spinal cord extends down your back, protected by your spinal column. Here it branches into nerves that travel to every organ, every system, every tissue and every cell of your body. This is a vast communications system over which a constant stream of billions of messages flow to keep your body working properly. How do you know if communication along your nervous system is good? The unfortunate answer is you don't know!
Here's why.
Only 6% of your nerves are sensitive to pain, leaving a majority or 94% to have a functional purpose meaning they tell your heart how to beat, your lungs how to breathe, your stomach how to digest food, they even tell your immune system how to fight infection, disease even cancer. That's why chiropractors call the Vertebral Subluxation "The Silent Killer" because it robs your body of life and health. Sickness and disease then have an opportunity to overtake your body and you don't know...until it's too late.
Is the health of your nervous system important? You decide!
Be smart, listen to your body, don't cover up the symptoms, but find the cause. Chiropractors look for the cause of your pain.
